1. Dip the brush in Mod Podge and then blot it a couple of times on newspaper to remove the      

         excess.

     2. Starting on one side and working your way around, paint Mod Podge onto every other node of 

         your pumpkin for stripes, or use your brush to dab on small circles for dots.

     3. Once that is done, grab your glitter and one by one start glittering each section of the Mod Podge.

     4. Shake the excess glitter off of your pumpkin.

     5. Repeat these steps as many times as you need to, depending on how big your pumpkin is.

With Halloween just around the corner, many of us are still rushing to find the perfect costume, but what’s a perfect costume without the perfect makeup? If you ask us, the answer is not much! The night is dark and full of terrors on All Hallow’s Eve, but your makeup sure doesn’t have to be. Here are four makeup brands that every girl should try out this spook-tacular holiday.

Otherwise knows as eyes, lips, face, e.l.f. is a makeup company that has brought the beauty industry to the masses. Their products come in a range of colors but are priced very low. You can get a single eyeshadow for $3 or an entire palette for around $6-$15. If you’re doing a Halloween look that requires shades that you may never use again, definitely check out the products at e.l.f. so that you can create your look without breaking the bank.

MAC: Multi-Use



Most people know MAC for their amazing foundations, eyeshadows and blushes but don’t know them for their amazing Halloween looks. Almost every year MAC comes out with a few looks that are always creative and inspiring. The nice thing about using MAC products is that after Halloween is over you will most likely be able to use them in your everyday life. Their pigments ($21) are a loose colored powder that have multiple uses and come in a wide range of colors. Also, MAC’s paint sticks ($21) can act like a face paint for bolder looks and come in black, white, and all the colors of the rainbow.

Ben Nye: Going All Out



If you’re the kind of girl that likes to go all out, try going old school with Ben Nye. Ben Nye makeup is used by actors and professionals, so if you’re going for a very theatrical look you should definitely check out the brand. You can purchase individual products online or you can purchase one of the Halloween makeup kits for around $18 to $24. If you’re not a pro it’s okay, as the kits come with step-by-step instructions and all the products necessary.

Whether you’re Wonder Woman or Frankenstein, you’ll be sure to find the right makeup with one of these four brands. So have fun this Halloween making up your new identity, and don’t forget to get creative!

‘Tis the season of candy corn, caramel apples and cider. You may be in college, but you’re never too old to partake in October festivities. If you’re sick of doing the same thing every weekend, this is the month for you and your friends to switch it up with some of these festive fall activities.


1. Haunted houses or mazes are always fun because you get to see everyone out of their element and screaming for bloody life. Check out Hauntworld.com and find a haunted house, corn maze or haunted hayride near you. Be sure to get a decent sized group to go with you for this activity. It will make the experience exponentially more fun, and you can hide in the middle of the group when you are terrified.

2. Let’s not forget pumpkin patches. They’re a little more childlike, yes! But nonetheless, they bring about a lovely sense of nostalgia. Oftentimes, there’s a cider mill within walking distance of the pumpkin patch. Don’t miss out on the hauntingly delicious fresh cider and doughnut smell filling the air -- stop in for a treat!

3. Find a costume party and dress up. If you’re having trouble finding a costume, you can visit various costume retailers online and begin your search. For a DIY costume, look at what College Gloss suggests:

4. If you’re looking for something to do inside the dorm, rent a few good horror movies from Redbox or search through Netflix, order a pizza and call it a night.

5. The most traditional Halloween activity is pumpkin carving. Have each of your friends go out and purchase a small pumpkin and make a night of decorating them. You can buy a carving kit from your local drugstore.

Whether you chose to trick-or-treat or swing by the campus parties, be sure to have a blast this Halloween season.
