How to Style: Wedge Sandals

Every summer I look forward to minimalist style that is both chic and functional. The winter months have faded, and it’s time for fantastic finds that scream summer. A fabulous aspect of summer accessories is the comfort you find in a great wedge or espadrille sandal. Even when the sandal’s height is above 4 inches, wedges provide a stylish and comfortable switch up from those pumps and heels. In the spirit of summer’s final month and some serious fashion, I dedicate this article to the wedge.

A great thing about these flattering sandals is that many styles are wearable day or night and in multiple locations. I’ve broken it down below to give you the sandal and shoe for many of your occasions:

Summer Barbeque or Party

Pair a gorgeous colored wedge with a flowy sundress or a silky tank and cuffed shorts. This look is playful and stylish, perfect for outdoor outings. And this wedge is only $21!

Office Jobs and Internships

When wearing wedges to the office keep them classic and try nude or black. If you're in a more casual setting, you can get away with wooden wedges (steer clear of espadrille styles for office settings), or if your office is more polished, stick to a chic, one-color style of wedge like this pair from Enzo Angiolini. Pair it with a knee-length pencil skirt and you have instantly updated standard office attire for summer.

Date Night

The great thing about date night is the same chic-looking wedges you paired with your business attire earlier in the day can translate fabulously to night. Pair this pair from Timberland with a hot mini dress or a shorts outfit and you have an instant bombshell look, all along NOT torturing your toes.

So as those summer days dwindle down, rock some wedges - your feet will thank you!

  1. I love wedges for summer fashion! They're far more stable than your typical heels and way cute with skinny jeans or a flirty skirt. Love!
