Hidden Beauty Secret: 4 Ways to Use Baking Soda in Your Beauty Routine

Baking soda is one of the best-kept beauty secrets that has many valuable and practical uses. It’s also very inexpensive, which is great for college women because we all know money can be tight. Baking soda is accessible and not hard to find, located at the local supermarket or drugstore. Here are some beneficial and surprising uses for baking soda.

1. Teeth Whitener
Everyone wants sparkly, white teeth. Whitening strips and whitening toothpaste may help, but you can always turn to good ol’ baking soda to solve the trick. Not only does baking soda whiten teeth, but it removes tartar and gives you healthy gums. You can dip a wet toothbrush in the baking soda container and start scrubbing gently. The taste may take some time to get used to, but the clean feeling will be rewarding.

2. Deodorant
Baking soda is one of the most effective deodorants around. All you have to do is dampen the palms of your hands and rub in a pinch of baking soda. Less is more and make sure that you rub it on clean armpits. It will be most effective that way.

3. Facial Scrub
Baking soda is a natural facial scrub all on its own. A small amount is enough to exfoliate your face and neck. After wetting your skin with warm water, you can place baking soda into the palm of your hand and add a little bit of water to make a mixture. Make sure that you scrub gently and rinse off after a few seconds of scrubbing. Don’t scrub too hard because you can overdo it and cause temporary redness.

4. Dry Shampoo
If you don’t have time for a regular hair wash, an alternative can be dry shampoo. However, if you don’t like the feel of store-bought dry shampoos, you can always sprinkle some baking soda on your roots and comb it through your hair. Baking soda will absorb excess oils and freshen up your hair instantly.

Baking soda is a hidden gem. It is very versatile and has many uses. You don’t have to buy the most expensive products to achieve amazing results. Sometimes the simplest, least sought after products have the most benefits.
