Three End of Summer Date Ideas

In the college world, going out on actual dates with your guy has probably become somewhat obsolete. The house party or bar atmosphere is usually where couples go on a typical Friday or Saturday night. This summer (and coming fall), try something new, and take it back to the good old days where formal dates were the norm with these three summer date ideas.

1. Hit the town
Do some research and find the newest and hottest restaurant in town, make reservations and go! To make the evening extra special, sport the finest of your outfits and have your man dress accordingly, too. Dressing up is a great way to add a little flavor to this restaurant date. Afterward, meet up with your group of friends at your favorite hang out and celebrate the evening in style.

2. Visit a local attraction

You don’t have to look hard to find special season-specific attractions in your city during the summertime. Get your local newspaper or magazine, and find out what special attractions are being held throughout the summer, and go! Maybe an art show, local concert, festival, museum exposition, or a wide variety of other events. You and your guy can make a list of the attractions you want to visit (on your summer bucket list) before the summer ends and make an effort to cross off as many as you can.

3. Host a backyard BBQ

There’s nothing more important in a relationship than to let your guy know that you enjoy the company of his friends. Try hosting a backyard BBQ together where he invites his friends and you invite yours! This is a great way to bring everyone together and to enjoy each other’s company with food, drinks and the summer sun! For added flavor, pump your favorite jams, and bring a beanbag toss and other fun games to put everyone in a lighthearted mood.

Remember that date night doesn’t have to be over-the-top to be special. It’s more about taking the time to recognize how important you are to one another and celebrating that by doing something out of the ordinary. Summer’s almost over, so take advantage of it while you still can, and go have fun together!
