CG Talks Fashion & Beauty With Singer Miasha

New York-based songstress Miasha may love music (be sure to check out her single “Everybody’s Beautiful” on iTunes), but she also has a passion for fashion! Growing up with a love for creatively expressing herself, it is no surprise Miasha loves creating outfits, going shopping and stashing tons of chic beauty products in her medicine cabinet! Miasha’s personal style is funky and edgy with a pop-rock twist. Noting style icons such as Vivienne Westwood and Madonna, Miasha is all about finding hip pieces that truly make a statement. Right now, Miasha loves her “white embroidered tux jacket with a modern twist by designer Alexander Wang,” and anything else she has purchased from her favorite stores: “Bess NYC, Zara, Patricia Fields, Trash & Vaudeville and Herold's in London.” Overall, Miasha’s cool style makes her the perfect fashion and beauty expert!

Want to learn more about her style? We’ll let her do the talking…

If you could create your own designer label what kind of clothes would you design and what would you call your label?
M: When you see the work of a master tailor or seamstress -- and I’m talking about all the way back to ancient royalty -- you see an artistry and craftsmanship that is beyond. So I would like to have the aesthetic of modernity to fit into peoples active lives as well as their fantasy lives. I would call this particular line ARCHETYPE.

Do you have a favorite designer?
M: I do have a couple of top favorites -- Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen (himself), Rodarte and Norma Kamali.

What influences your personal style?
M: My own style is influenced by art, rhythm and colors.

What is your favorite accessory?
M: Right now I’m loving my black leather double-shoulder holster.

What is your favorite outfit?
M: My favorite outfit right now... black tux pants from Zara, simple shirt (I usually cut the sleeves of a guy’s T-shirt), the leather holster shoulder piece and black motorcycle boots from Barbara Bui.

When did you first begin to develop your sense of style?
M: At a very young age. Because my grade school required us to wear a uniform, I became quite creative in making this uniform a fashion piece, hahaha.

What are some of your makeup and beauty product must-haves?
M: Two products I always have with me are Creme Camphrea from Guerlain and Make Up Forever cover up. I also love L’oreal Feria conditioner (no tangles) and Garnier Fructis shampoo and Jergens creme original scent.

What is your favorite way to style your hair?
M: A right-out-of-the-shower look. Still a bit of wet hair and parted to the side -- I like the side part to almost cover one eye, a modern Veronica Lake hairdo.

What is your favorite way to do your makeup?
M: Generally a very natural face makeup and a good lip stain color.

Are there any beauty regimes/ routines you like to follow?
M: The most important routine I follow -- and I notice it in the texture of my skin, body, nails and hair -- is intensive exercise, like really being able to sweat. And sleep and a ton of water.

What is your favorite color of nail polish?
M: Lincoln Park After Dark, OPI.

What is one saying you like to live by when it comes to fashion and beauty?
M: Everybody’s beautiful!
