Foodie: How to Bake Banana Bread

This delicious recipe for banana bread is not only easy to make, but great for getting rid of almost-brown bananas that you might otherwise throw away. And trust me, the aroma of freshly baked banana bread coming from your oven will make your friends flock to your apartment and call you things like "best friend ever" and "domestic goddess". The secret recipe?

What you need:
3 or 4 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

What to do:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Mix the butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, then the egg, and finally the vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix well. Add the flour last and mix until you can't see individual pockets of flour. Pour the mixture into a buttered loaf pan or into a muffin tin. Bake for one hour. Cool the banana bread on a rack and resist the urge to eat it when it's burning hot. Once it's sufficiently cool, slice it and serve! It's a great way to have breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a late night treat.
