How to Update Your Workout Wardrobe

Whether you are trying to lose weight, get in shape, or just trying to stay in shape, there is no better motivator than having an awesome workout wardrobe. One of the hardest things about staying healthy and exercising is keeping up the motivation to do all the work. However, there is always an incentive to keep going when you have a closet full of cute and fashionable workout gear!

If you are like me, there is always an excuse to go shopping - and what’s a better justification than shopping to help motivate exercise! New workout clothes can also help you stay confident but comfortable while working out. While old sweatpants and an oversized T-shirt may seem like the obvious choice, form-fitting and light fabric clothing is a lot more flattering and will make you feel better when venturing to the gym. Besides, you never know who you may run into or who may take notice of your new, chic gym attire.

One of the most important pieces of a workout outfit is a good sports bra. Finding a good-fitting and comfortable bra that keeps the girls up but is crucial. To prevent premature sagging, find ones that fit snugly and have wide enough straps to offer support! There are also several different of types of bras depending on the type of activities and impact levels you are doing.

As for tops, it is important to wear shirts that do not retain moisture or perspiration, which cotton does. Instead, try a shirt like this from Lululemon, which is lightweight but also has fibers that prevent the growth of bacteria.

It's also important to find a pair of comfortable, yet flattering bottoms. Depending on your activity, you can choose either pants or shorts. Shorts should be lightweight and allow you to run or move freely. If you are unsure about showing the world your leg jiggle, yoga pants or cropped leggings are a good alternative. Also, cute and colorful sweatpants are a good option, especially bottoms from the Victoria’s Secret Pink line.

A pair of colorful but firm and supportive sneakers can make a huge difference in how you work out and for how long. If they hurt, are uncomfortable, or are simply old and worn out, it is time to buy a new pair. Nike, Puma, and Reebok all make affordable and stylish footwear for you to choose from.

Lastly, to make an outfit even cuter, pair it with a couple of workout accessories, such as a heart rate monitor or an eco-friendly “water bobble” to complete your workout motivation! Plus, don’t forget a heart-pumping playlist to keep you moving.
