Although people all burn calories differently depending on your weight, sex and height, studies show that one hour of Zumba can burn up to 400-600 calories! Zumba is a workout comprised of salsa and other Latin dance moves.
This being said, you are working on all types of muscles and toning different body parts. Zumba is Latin influenced, and your abs and hips will definitely be getting a workout. As with any exercise, Zumba is great for your body especially because it is working almost every joint and muscle. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute has reported that dancing can, “lower your risk of coronary heart disease, decrease blood pressure, help you manage your weight and strengthen the bones in your legs and hips.” Also, because Zumba is packed with energy you are sure to break a sweat which will release the toxins in your body via sweat. With all of these benefits, why not join?
With Zumba classes, usually many people attend. Since you are all dancing the same choreography and moving along to the same beat many people are simply having fun and smiling and laughing along the way which increases the endorphins released in your brain. Also, who wouldn’t want to learn some sexy new dance moves for the next time you go out to a club or party?
